The owner of a blind dog rescued from desperate conditions in Bulgaria has jumped from 10,000ft to help other animals in distress.
Julie Drewitt took part in a tandem skydive with North London Skydiving Centre, at Chatteris Airfield, Wimblington, in aid of Blind Dog Rescue UK.
Mrs Drewitt, of Station Road, Bluntisham, took on her dog Yotzo just over a year ago after she saw him on the charity’s website.
To support the charity’s work, transporting dogs back to Britain from abroad, she was sponsored to do the skydive and raised £950.
She said: “Initially, I could not stop shaking. I was so nervous, but it was absolutely brilliant. I thought you would go hurtling down and it would be noisy and disorientating but it was so sedate and surreal.
“The views were awesome – I had the perfect day.”
