She’s the 19-year-old mystery dog who has been dubbed “immortal” after surviving against the odds.

Poorly Kia, the Jack Russell cross collie, was spotted wandering the streets by a dog warden in Loughborough and taken to kennels.

The dog, who was suffering from an ear infection and other health problems, had been micro-chipped and registered back in 1996, but when the wardens went to the registration address, the house was no longer there.

When Shane Duffin, co-founder of Nottingham-based One Paw at a Time Dog Rescue, was visiting the kennels he heard about Kia’s mystery story – and was determined to find her a happy ending.
